Jamahal Hill vacates UFC light heavyweight title following Achilles injury

Jamahal Hill, the reigning UFC light heavyweight champion, made the very tough call to vacate his championship belt following an Achilles rupture sustained while playing basketball with Daniel Cormier.

Hill, who beat Glover Texiera at UFC 283 in January to win the title, took to his YouTube channel to make the announcement.

Following the announcement, in a pure class move, Hill’s next opponent, Jiří Procházka, took to Twitter to express his well wishes to the former champ.

There is no announcement of UFC’s plans to schedule a fight for the vacant championship. We will keep you updated on this major shakeup in the UFC Light Heavyweight division and wish Jamahal a speedy recovery.
